Day 1  Depart USA Overnight flight to Rome.

Day 2  Arrive Rome (2 nights) Trafalgar greets you at the airport and transfers you to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to begin your exploration of the 'Eternal City'. This afternoon, a warm welcome from your Tour Director and a chance to get to know your fellow travellers.

Day 3  Rome sightseeing & at leisure Our morning sightseeing tour shows us the Forum and Colosseum and visits St. Peter's Basilica. Later you'll have the opportunity to take an excursion to Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel and to explore the ancient catacombs on the old Appian Way. Or perhaps, shop in the designer boutiques along the elegant Via Condotti. (Buffet Breakfast)

Day 4   Rome - Siena - Florence (2 nights) Sightseeing Enjoy a short drive this morning past the hilltop towns of the Latium and the Umbria. Arrive in  Florence. Here, sightseeing shows us the Piazza della Signoria, the Cathedral and Holy Cross Church. Step inside the Santa Croce Basilican (Buffet Breakfast)

Day 5  Pisa to Turin This morning after breakfast we transfer to Pisa, with its famous leaning tower and Cathedral in the Square of Miracles.  Bring lots of film.  Continue on the drive past the quarries of Carrara and the resorts of Portofino, Rapallo and Genow, Colubus's birthplace.  Next we travel towards the Alps and Turin, where we stop for the night.  (Buffet Breakfast)

Day 6  Turin Lake Maggiore and Milan (1 night)  The Italian Lake beckon.   See lake Maggiore, making a stop at Stresa, facing the pretty Borromean Islands.  Enjoy a very scenic drive along th lake to the capital of Lombardy, Milan.  Orientation tour includes Galleria, Piazza del Duomo, Opera House, La Scala and more.  (Buffet Breakfast/Dinner)

Day 7  Milan - Pavia - Mantua - Venice  This morning our first stop is a visit to the Cistercian Abbey of Pavia.  Later journey into the Veneto stopping to visit Mantua with its arcaded streets and Cathedral.  (BB, Dinner)

Day 8  Venice sightseeing & at leisure The perfect way to absorb this city's unique sights and sounds is on an included canal cruise to St. Mark's Square. We will see the Byzantine Basilica and magnificent Doges' Palace before a demonstration of glass-blowing at a Murano glass factory. Then free time to discover some of the other islands in the lagoon and perhaps enjoy a fresh seafood lunch in one of the typical restaurants. (Buffet Breakfast/Dinner)

Day 9  Venice (Mestre) - Verona - Bologna  Arrive in Verona late morning to see Juliet's balcony and continue to Bologna, famous not for its meat but its university.  Of course there are fine sausages and hams here too!  Orientation tour shows us Neptune's Fountain, the kissing Towers and Piazza Maggiore.   (Buffet Breakfast)

Day 10  Bologna Assisi - Rome Over the Apennine Mountains we go.  Arrive in Assisi.  Home of St Francis, the famous Basilica and Church of St. Mary of the Angels.  Continue back to the eternal city of Rome.   (Buffet Breakfast/Dinner)

Day 11  Rome - USA Today after breakfast, time to bid a fond farewell to your new friends as your Tour Director arranges a transfer to the airport for your return flight to the USA. (Buffet Breakfast)
